Dr. Jack Rushin’s first experience with Chiropractic happened when he was 16 and recovering from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He first sought care from a medical doctor who prescribed muscle relaxers and heat for his low back injury. The condition became worse and was interfering with his school attendance and his participation in sports. A neighbor recommended that he see a Chiropractor. His parents took him to Dr. Warren Salzmann’s office in Jackson, Missouri. He had difficulty getting from the car to the reception room. He was examined, x-ray films were made of his lower back and he received his first adjustment. Relief was immediate and he was able to walk to the car much easier then when he went into the office. He followed through with a series of treatments after school. A few weeks after his initial experience with Chiropractic while in General Business class his teacher asked the class to give a thorough detailed report on a vocation or profession they may choose for their adult life. After discussing this with his family and the success of his recent Chiropractic experience, the decision was made to do the report on Chiropractic. After interviewing Dr. Salzmann and the research that Jack did for his report another decision had been made, to become a Chiropractor. After graduating High School and acquiring pre-requisite education from Southeast Missouri State University Jack applied and was accepted to Life College of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia. After the first day of classes Jack called home with great excitement as to how broad the scope of Chiropractic practice could be and the potential benefits for every man, woman and child. Dr. Rushin graduated Cum Laude from Life College of Chiropractic in December of 1980. Dr. Rushin practiced in Puxico, MO before moving his practice to Poplar Bluff in 1988. |
